Synopsis: During a violent storm, a young boy collapses at a school sports event, and his mother learns that only a bone marrow transplant can save him. Years earlier, under China’s family-planning policies, she abandoned her infant daughter, sending her to live with relatives. Now grown, the daughter has survived abuse and built a precarious life of her own. When the mother seeks her out as a last hope, their reunion becomes a tense emotional reckoning shaped by truth, resentment, and survival. [© Far East Films]
