‘The One’ (独一无二) is a 2025 Chinese drama directed by Wang Mu.

The film, which is a remake of the 2014 French movie ‘La Famille Bélier’, revolves around a girl living with her deaf parents who discovers that she has a gift for singing. The cast includes Zhang Jingyi, Chen Minghao, Jiang Qinqin, Xin Yunlai, Zhang Yu, and White-K.

Synopsis: 17-year-old girl Yu Yan (Zhang Jingyi) lives with her father (Chen Minghao), mother (Jiang Qinqin), and brother (Xin Yunlai) in Yu Ji Fish Shop, which is run by her ancestors. As the only hearing person in a hearing-impaired family, she has been wandering between the silent world of her family and the noisy world outside since she was a child, and has become accustomed to serving as a bridge and translator. The love and dependence of her family entangled her like vines, but the fire of desire to go to a wider world also burned in her heart. The sudden change forced Yu Yan to face the dilemma of pursuing her dreams and defending her family. In the choice of growing up, she tried to find herself and find a song that she could share with her family. [© Far East Films]
