Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Eye Of The Storm’

Deltamac are bringing the 2023 Taiwanese drama ‘Eye Of The Storm’ (疫起) to Taiwanese Blu-ray and DVD on February 2, 2024.

Based on true events and directed by Lin Chun-Yang, the film follows the patients and staff at the Taipei City Hospital which was ground zero for the first outbreak of SARS. The cast includes Edison Wang, Tseng Jing-Hua, Simon Hsueh, Chloe Xiang, and Chang Yung-Cheng.

Synopsis: As his shift comes to an end, jaded thoracic surgeon Dr. Hsia (Edison Wang) is eager to get home for his daughter’s birthday, but he gets called back for an emergency patient. When he tries to leave, he finds the exits are blocked and the hospital is under lockdown. Hsia first tries to hide and protect himself from infection while gathering information on the SARS cases along with a journalist patient (Simon Hsueh). Emotions run high throughout the hospital as more infected cases and deaths occur, and regular patients and overloaded frontline personnel are left in the dark. While some staff go on strike, dedicated nurse Tai He (Tseng Jing-Hua) volunteers for the SARS ward.
