‘Beyond the Clouds’ (我本是高山) is a 2023 Chinese biographical drama directed by Zheng Dasheng and Yang Jin.
The film is based on the life of Zhang Guimei, a Chinese teacher who has dedicated her life to improving girls’ education. The cast includes Hai Qing, Chen Yongsheng, Chai Ye, Wang Yueting, and Wan Guopeng.
Synopsis: This is the story of one determined woman and a group of freshly graduated young teachers, who manage to change the destiny of more than a hundred girls against all the odds. It is the tale of love, youth, passion and destiny… [© Far East Films]
