‘Sugar’ (슈가) is a 2026 South Korean drama written and directed by Choi Sin-Choon.

Based on a true story, the film follows a mother who defies medical and institutional barriers to protect her chronically ill son. The cast includes Choi Ji-Woo, Min Jin-Woong, Ko Dong-Ha, Kim Young-Sung, and Kim Sun-Young.

Synopsis: A devoted mother is forced to confront a new reality when her young son is diagnosed with a lifelong illness that turns everyday routines into high-stakes calculations. As she navigates hospitals, restrictive regulations, and mounting financial strain, fear gives way to fierce determination, pushing her to challenge systems that seem indifferent to personal suffering and revealing how love and endurance can transform ordinary care into an act of quiet heroism.
