Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Lu Over the Wall’

Anime Limited are bringing the 2017 Japanese animated fantasy film ‘Lu Over the Wall’ (夜明け告げるルーのうた) to UK Blu-ray and DVD on July 30, 2018.

Directed by Masaaki Yuasa, the story follows a gloomy middle school student who sees his life drastically change after he meets a mermaid. The voice cast includes Kanon Tani, Shota Shimoda, Akira Emoto, Minako Kotobuki, and Shinichi Shinohara.

Synopsis: Kai lives in a small finishing town with his superstitious grandfather. The old man warns him of the dangers of the merfolk, who believes will cause them harm. When confronted by bullies, Kai is helped by Lu – a fun-loving mermaid who loves music but is vulnerable to sunlight. With a local seafood company posing a threat to the town and a number of its inhabitants, hostile towards the merfolk, Lu, Kai and his friends must band together to ensure both communities survive. This funky, upbeat tale is full of energy and features cute merdogs, musical mermaids and a giant humanoid shark.
