Blu-ray release: ‘The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter’

88 Films are bringing the 1984 Hong Kong martial arts classic ‘The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter’ (五郎八卦棍) to UK Blu-ray on March 2, 2020.
Directed by Liu Chia-Liang, the film revolves around the son of a military family who goes looking for vengeance after his father and brothers are murdered in an ambush. The cast includes Gordon Liu, Alexander Fu Sheng, Johnny Wang Lung-Wei, Kara Hui, and Lily Li Li-Li.
Synopsis: Based on a story from Chinese history: a heroic general is betrayed on the battlefield. He and five of his sons are killed, but two of his sons are able to escape. Haunted by what happened to their father and brothers they begin to think of revenge but they will have to tread with care. The traitor and his troops are on their tail, and he means to finish the job he started.
