Blu-ray release: ‘The Guard From Underground’

Third Window Films are bringing the 1992 Japanese horror thriller ‘The Guard From Underground’ (地獄の警備員) to UK Blu-ray on September 25, 2023.

Co-written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, the film follows a woman who begins working at the same company as a security guard that she believes might be a former sumo wrestling serial killer. The cast includes Makiko Kuno, Yutaka Matsushige, Hatsunori Hasegawa, Ren Osugi, and Taro Suwa.

Synopsis: Kiyoshi Kurosawa here fashions a dark tale that is both a sharp satire of corporate life and a B-movie thriller. A former sumo wrestler now working as a security guard goes on a murderous rampage in the company that’s employed him.
