
Blu-ray release: ‘The Lady Hermit’

Imprint Films are bringing the 1971 Hong Kong martial arts drama ‘The Lady Hermit’ (鍾馗娘子) to Australian Blu-ray on July 30, 2025.
Directed by Ho Meng-Hua, the film follows a young swordswoman who seeks out a reclusive teacher so that she may learn to defeat the evil Black Demon. The cast includes Cheng Pei-Pei, Shih Szu, Lo Lieh, Fang Mian, and Wang Hsieh.
Synopsis: Young swordswoman Chui-ping (Shih Szu) idolises the great and mysterious Lady Hermit (Cheng Pei-Pei), a master of kung fu, and enlists her help and tutelage to defeat the evil Black Demon (Wang Hsieh) and his minions. Fellow swordswoman Chang-cun (Lo Lieh) joins them, complicating their fight for victory.
