‘Confession’ (告白 コンフェッション / Kokuhaku) is a 2024 Japanese suspense thriller directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita.

Based on the manga series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto and illustrated by Kaiji Kawaguchi, the film revolves around two childhood friends who uncover some unsavoury secrets about each other during a mountain climbing trip. The cast includes Toma Ikuta, Yang Ik-June, and Nao.

Synopsis: Keisuke Asai (Toma Ikuta) and Ryu Ji-Yong (Yang Ik-June) were members of the same university mountain climbing club. 16 years after their graduation, they are still good friends. They decide to go mountain climbing to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Sayuri Nishida (Nao), who was a member of their club who died in an accident while climbing. During Asai and Ji-Yong’s climb, they encounter a blizzard and get lost in the extreme weather. Ji-Yong gets injured and he becomes certain that he will die. Asai tries to encourage Ji-Yong not to give up, but Ji-Yong suddenly makes a shocking confession. They then see a mountain hut where they can take shelter. [Source: AsianWiki]
