Trailer: ‘Ninja Jajamaru-kun’

‘Ninja Jajamaru-kun’ (劇場版 忍者じゃじゃ丸くん) is a 2020 Japanese action movie directed by Ainosuke Shibata.

Based on the Famicom/MSX game of the same name, the film revolves around a young ninja who attempts to help a family being harassed by gangsters. The cast includes Isamu Sugihara, Hiroaki Kawatsure, Yuka Kuramochi, Yasutaka Yuuki, Dayu Koume, Kentaro Shimazu, and Tak Sakaguchi.

Synopsis: In a small ninja village in the countryside, two students, Kagemaru and Jajamaru, must duel to decide who will become the next clan leader. Although Kagemaru emerges victorious, the village elder decides that that Jajamaru is the more deserving. As both men are not entirely satisfied with the outcome, they flee to the city to try and gather their thoughts. Jajamaru winds up staying with the Watanabe family, and he takes an instant shine to their daughter. However, the family are being harassed by gangsters who are looking to acquire their land. Jajamaru vows to do everything he can to protect them, but as he enters into a battle with their leader he discovers that they have a secret weapon – Kagemaru. [© Far East Films]
