‘The Fable: A Contract Killer Who Doesn’t Kill’ (ザ・ファブル 殺さない殺し屋) is a 2021 Japanese action comedy directed by Kan Eguchi.

Based on a manga by Katsuhisa Minami, the film is a sequel to 2019’s ‘The Fable’ that finds retired killer Akira forced back into the business after a contract killer appears at his workplace. The cast includes Junichi Okada, Fumino Kimura, Shinichi Tsutsumi, Yurina Hirate, and Masanobu Ando.

Synopsis: Akira (Junichi Okada) is the legendary killer known as The Fable. Following the order of his boss and due to being overworked, he lives peacefully with his partner Yoko (Fumino Kimura) as ordinary siblings. Akira still works part-time at design company Octopus with CEO Takoda (Jiro Sato) and employee Misaki (Mizuki Yamamoto). CEO Takoda and Misaki are unaware of Akira’s background as an assassin. Meanwhile, Utsubo (Shinichi Tsutsumi) is a representative for an NPO. But, Utsubo works with contract killer Suzuki (Masanobu Ando) to set people up for extortion purposes. They target someone at design company Octopus. [Source: AsianWiki]
