‘The Woman in the Storm’ (我经过风暴) is a 2023 Chinese drama written and directed by Qin Haiyan.

The film revolves around the struggles of a domestically abused woman who is attempting to break free from her husband’s grasp. The cast includes Tong Liya, Wu Yuhan, Wang Yinglu, Zhang Youhao, and Huang Lu.

Synopsis: The seemingly strong and independent Xu Min (Tong Liya) has a secret she can’t reveal: she has been subjected to long-term domestic abuse by her husband Chen Jun (Wu Yuhan). Xu Min is not the victim everyone imagines though, she is resolute and brave and has her own career. She is also in the process of trying to divorce her husband with the help of lawyer Li Xiaomeng (Wang Yinglu). However, her husband is very cautious and does not leave evidence, leading to the system failing her time and time again. When divorce is not the end of domestic violence and when the home is not a shelter but the storm itself, can Xu Min break through the storm? [© Far East Films]
