Wilson Chin’s ‘Special Female Force’ finally gets a release

After sitting on the shelf for over a year, Wilson Chin’s new Hong Kong action comedy, ‘Special Female Force’ (辣警霸王花) is finally going to see the light of day. The finished film was considered too violent for mainland censors and extensive cuts were required to allow it to be released. Thankfully, Hong Kong audiences will still be getting the full uncut version.

Synopsis: An elite team of six female rookie police recruits fail to graduate as they refuse to retreat after their final test gets out of hand. But their persistence provides them with another opportunity – “The Rafflesia”, a special female force that was disbanded 25 years ago and is now looking for new blood to resume their operations. Their first mission is to capture the notorious triad leader who caused the disbandment of “The Rafflesia” 25 years ago. He has taken a top medical scientist hostage and plans to use knowledge in virus production to threaten different countries. Eager to become real police officers, the girls accept the offer despite the level of danger involved.

‘Special Female Force’ stars Eliza Sam, Joyce Cheng, Jeana Ho, Chris Tong, Cathryn Lee, Mandy Ho, Jacky Cai, and Anita Chui. The film is due for release on October 13, 2016.
