Blu-ray release: ‘Special Rescue Exceedraft’

Discotek Media are bringing the 1992-1993 Japanese tokusatsu television series ‘Special Rescue Exceedraft’ (特捜エクシードラフト) to US Blu-ray on December 30, 2025.

Directed by Hajime Sato, the series is the final entry in the ‘Rescue Police’ sub-series and follows a high-tech rescue unit in Tokyo responding to escalating technological crimes and dangerous emergencies. The cast includes Tatsuo Fukano, Ryosuke Kaizu, Michiko Enokida, Tetsuya Bessho, and Raita Ito.

Synopsis: Deep within the darkest corners of Tokyo, the scourge of high-tech crime continues its uncontrollable evolution…but not for long! The city’s best and brightest have been assembled to form an experimental rescue unit—Special Rescue Exceedraft! Led by the coolheaded Captain Kano, this three-man team dashes headfirst into danger to save lives! High-speed chases? Collapsing buildings? Gravity guns?
