Discotek Media are bringing the 2011 Japanese sports drama ‘Tomorrow’s Joe’ (あしたのジョー) to US Blu-ray on January 27, 2026.
Based on the manga by Ikki Kajiwara and directed by Fumihiko Sori, the film follows a troubled young man who discovers a fierce drive for boxing after a stint in detention sets him on a path toward redemption. The cast includes Tomohisa Yamashita, Yusuke Iseya, Teruyuki Kagawa, Karina, and Katsuya.
Synopsis: For about as long as he can remember, Joe (Tomohisa Yamashita) has had to roll with the punches, living each day in the slums as if it might be his last. But when a wild brawl sends the kid to the slammer, the appearance of a fierce rival sparks a new passion for boxing within him. Spurred on by an unlikely mentor who believes he could go the distance, Joe leaps into the ring. And as he rises through the ranks, he realises that he’s no longer fighting for himself — he’s fighting for tomorrow.
