The result is a good big-budget action film though enjoyment will rest on how much Chinese flag-waving you can sit through.

A poignant family drama with dashes of dry humour, ‘Love Education’ is a film that director and star Sylvia Chang can be suitably proud of.

The pacing is just right, the locations are skilfully used and Liu has taken a deceptively simple story and given it layers of interest beneath.
