Warner Bros. eyeing an American ‘Attack on Titan’ remake

By   |  Jan 19, 2017

Warner Bros. Pictures is reportedly in negotiations to acquire the American film rights for Hajime Isayama’s ‘Attack on Titan’.

Although the deal is still in the early stages, ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ producer David Heyman has already been attached to the project.

‘Attack on Titan’ is set in a world where humanity lives in cities surrounded by enormous walls; a defense against the Titans, gigantic humanoids that eat humans seemingly without reason. The story revolves around a group of childhood friends who join the military to fight the Titans after their home town is invaded.

Rather than adapting directly from the manga, the American version will apparently be adapted from the two live-action Japanese films.

Update: The ‘Attack on Titan’ publisher, Kodansha have told ANN that reports on negotiations with Warner are “incorrect”. However, they are unable to comment on what projects are within contract negotiations.
