Miao And Powers Play A 'Game Of Assassins'

 

Director Seven Miao and Beijing-based American actor/stuntman Ian Powers are currently in post-production on a new feature entitled 'Game Of Assassins'.  The film stars Chen Kuan-Tai as a general who trains a trio of young fighters to seek revenge on a villainous King, played by Leung Kar Yan.

Both Seven Miao and Ian Powers began their careers working for actor/director Frankie Chan of 'Prodigal Son' and 'Outlaw Brothers' fame, Seven as an assistant director and Powers as an actor and stuntman on such projects as 'To Live & Die In Chicago' and 'Taekwondo Kids'. While Seven has continued to hone his craft as a director on various TV series, commercials and music videos, Powers has built a solid reputation as an actor and stuntman on such projects as 'Contract Lover' for Alfred Cheung, 'The White Wall', 'Treasure Hunter' with Jay Chou, 'Future X-Cops' with Andy Lau, and playing a colourful killer in Wong Jing's 'Naked Soldier'. Powers also worked on the highly anticipated 'Man with the Iron Fists', written, directed by and starring the RZA, with a supporting cast that includes Russell Crowe, Byron Mann, Daniel Wu and Lucy Liu. This film will mark Powers' official debut as action choreographer, after working with the likes of Sammo Hung, Yuen Woo-ping, Corey Yuen, and Ching Siu-tong, and their teams.

'Game Of Assassins' co-stars Canadian Chinese actor Darren Choo, comedic actor Jiang Qiao, and Jacky Jing, with 'Mr. Vampire' director Ricky Lau acting as executive producer and consultant. The first trailer for the film should be released shortly, but in the meantime the team have released several character posters for the film which can be found below.
