Teaser For 'Anata e'

 

The teaser trailer has been released for 'Dear' (AKA 'Anata e'), a new Japanese drama directed by Yasuo Furuhata ('The Haunted Samurai'). The film centres around a prison guidance officer (Ken Takakura) who hits the road to take the ashes of his late wife (Yuko Tanaka) to her home town in Kyushu.

Synopsis

Eiji (Ken Takakura) works as a prison officer in Hokuriku. At the age 53 Eiji loses his wife who he loved the most. Eiji then receives a letter from his dead wife which requests that her ashes be spread by her hometown sea. Her wife never mentioned such a thing while she was alive. In order to find out her real intentions, Eiji heads to his wife's hometown of Nagasaki with his homemade camper van.

'Dear' co-stars Yuko Tanaka, Koichi Sato, Hideji Otaki, Kimiko Yo, and Haruka Ayase. The film opens across Japan on the 25th August, 2012.
