Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Fly Me to Polaris’

Panorama are bringing the 1999 Hong Kong romantic fantasy ‘Fly Me to Polaris’ (星願) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on December 23, 2021.

Directed by , the film follows a man who returns from the dead to find his true love, only to have her not recognise him and reject him. The cast includes , , , , and .

Synopsis: Onion (Richie Ren) is a blind and mute man working as an audiotape typist in a hospital. He is crazy about a nurse, Autumn (Cecilia Cheung) living two floors below him. One day, Onion is hit by a car. He finds himself suddenly beamed to a dreamy environment and is able to see and speak again. A young agent dressed in black tells Onion that he was killed on earth and is now in transit to Polaris. The agent tells Onion that he happens to be the 60 billionth human being who dies on earth. Every time the number hits 10 billion, the person will be granted a wish. Onion is overjoyed and wishes to return to earth as he wants to be with Autumn. The agent can only allow Onion to return to earth for five days. During these five days, he will be able to see and speak, but will have the appearance of a different person so that no one will recognise him. Nor will he be able to let people know who he really is or about Polaris. Onion accepts the rules and is beamed back to earth…
