‘Alienoid: Return to the Future’ (외계+인 2부 /Alienoid 2) is a 2024 South Korean sci-fi action fantasy written and directed by Choi Dong-Hoon.

The film, which is a sequel to 2022’s ‘Alienoid’, continues the adventures of a group of ancient Taoists as they travel through space and time to obtain a Divine Sword. The cast includes Ryoo Joon-Yeol, Kim Woo-Bin, Kim Tae-Ri, Lee Ha-Nee, and Yum Jung-Ah.

Synopsis: Yi-An and Thunder have become trapped in the distant past while trying to prevent the escape of alien prisoners locked up in human brains. Yi-An eventually locates the Divine Blade which can open a door through time. Meanwhile, Mu-Reuk helps Yi-An escape but is unnerved when he begins sensing the presence of a strange being in his body. Yi-An and Mu-Reuk are pursued by the Sorcerers, who suspect that an alien lies within Mu-Reuk. Back in the year 2022, the release of an alien gas that will result in the death of thousands of people is imminent. With only 48 minutes left before humanity is wiped out, Yi-An must return to the future, face down the aliens and stop the release of the gas… [Source: HanCinema]
