Theatrical & Digital release: ‘Ip Man: The Awakening’

Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment are bringing the 2021 Chinese martial arts drama ‘Ip Man: The Awakening’ (叶问宗师觉醒) to the Icon Film Channel from April 3, before releasing in selected UK cinemas on May 5.

Directed by Li Xijie and Zhang Zhulin, the film finds a young Master Ip intervening in a kidnapping attempt and unintentionally igniting a turf war with a ruthless human trafficking ring. The cast includes Xie Miao, Chen Guanying, Sergio De Ieso, and Hou Tongjiang.

Synopsis: While visiting Hong Kong, a young Master Ip intervenes in a kidnapping attempt, unintentionally igniting a turf war with a ruthless human trafficking ring. In retaliation, the gang kidnaps one of Ip Man’s close friends, leaving him with no choice but to challenge the group’s notoriously brutal boxing champion head-on.
