‘Concrete Utopia’ (콘크리트 유토피아) is a 2023 South Korean disaster thriller directed by Uhm Tae-Hwa.
Based on the webcomic ‘Yukwaehan Yiwoot’ by Kim Soong-Nyoong, the film follows the survivors of a massive earthquake as they struggle to establish a new life in Seoul. The cast includes Lee Byung-Hun, Park Seo-Joon, Park Bo-Young, Choi Young-Do, and Kim Sun-Young.
Synopsis: Seoul is devastated by a powerful earthquake. Hwanggoong Apartment is the only place still standing after the earthquake so survivors make their way there. Young-Tak (Lee Byung-Hun) temporarily leads the residents and as the crisis unfolds, he tries to protect them from outsiders. Min-Sung (Park Seo-Joon) was a public officer. He is picked by Young-Tak and becomes his helper. Myeong-Hwa (Park Bo-Young) is Min-Sung’s wife and a nurse. She takes care of the injured. [Source: AsianWiki]
