Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Detective Chinatown 1900’

CN Entertainment are bringing the 2025 Chinese comedy-mystery  ‘Detective Chinatown 1900’ (唐探1900) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on July 11, 2025.

Directed by Chen Sicheng and Dai Mo, the film is a prequel to the ‘Detective Chinatown’ series that tells the story of a Chinese-Native American hunter and a young American student who team up in San Francisco Chinatown in 1900 to solve a murder. The cast includes Wang Baoqiang, Liu Haoran, Chow Yun-Fat, White. K, Zhang Xincheng, and Yue Yunpeng.

Synopsis: It’s the year 1900 in San Francisco, and the murder of a white woman in Chinatown has triggered outrage and exacerbated anti-Chinese sentiments. Ah Gui (Wang Baoqiang) and Qin Fu (Liu Haoran) cross paths because of the strange murder and accidentally become the “Chinatown Detectives.” The stakes are high as the case affects the fate of Chinatown and indeed the entire Chinese American community. With the support of Chinatown boss Bai Xuanling (Chow Yun Fat), the detective duo race against time to uncover the truth!
