Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Full River Red’

Edko Films are bringing the 2023 Chinese historical suspense drama ‘Full River Red’ (满江红) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on September 22, 2023.

Co-written and directed by Zhang Yimou, the film revolves around the investigation into the murder of a Jin envoy who is sent to deliver a secret letter to Prime Minister Qin Hui. The cast includes Shen Teng, Jackson Yee, Zhang Yi, Lei Jiayin, Yue Yunpeng, and Wang Jiayi.

Synopsis: Four years after Yue Fei’s death, grand chancellor Qin Hui (Lei Jiayin) leads Song troops to negotiate with the Jin state. However, on the eve of talks, the Jin envoy dies at the chancellor’s residence, and the secret message he carried disappears. Soldier Zhang Da (Shen Teng) and deputy commander Sun Jun (Jackson Yee) get pulled into the tense situation by chance, and Qin Hui orders the two to find the killer within an hour. In the course of the investigation, various suspicious figures and a larger conspiracy emerge.
