Third Window Films and The Japan Foundation are bringing Katsuhito Ishii’s ‘Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl’ (鮫肌男と桃尻女) and ‘PARTY 7’ to UK cinemas this July.

Screening for one night only in London and Derby, the films will be presented in their remastered forms with a live Q&A with director Katsuhito Ishii in between the features.

Shark Skin Man & Peach Hip Girl
1999 Japan Dir: Katsuhito Ishii 109 mins
The debut film of Katsuhito Ishii, and a film Quentin Tarantino loved so much that he asked its director to direct the animated chapter of ‘Kill Bill‘! Legendary Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano (‘Ichi the Killer‘) plays the role of Samehada (Sharkskin) who, on the run himself from stealing Yakuza money, meets a girl who’s on the run from her perverted boss! A tale of star-crossed lovers on the run from all sorts of crazy people!

Party 7
2000 Japan Dir: Katsuhito Ishii 104 mins
Katsuhito Ishii’s follow-up to ‘Shark Skin Man’ once again brings back Tadanobu Asano to play one of his strangest roles, that of a peeping pervert who is one of 7 wild characters who find themselves in 1 hotel room with a stolen suitcase of Yakuza money, each on the run from their own past!

The films will be screened at the Prince Charles Cinema in London on July 5 and the Quad in Derby on July 7. To book tickets, visit princecharlescinema.com or derbyquad.co.uk.
