‘The Blazing Temple’ is not Joseph Kuo’s best nor is it near his very pinnacle. It does, though, offer some solid enjoyment for patient viewers.

A mainly cool slice of retro 70s exploitation that while maybe not Golden Harvest’s finest, is an entertaining revenge romp for fans of old school action.

Ichikawa has put together an attractive and professional interpretation of one of Japan’s beloved characters.

A splendid, fight packed romp that is a must for any fan of Fu Sheng. In fact, it’s probably a must for any fan of kung fu films.

There are numerous excellent comic situations and some classic routines that have been quoted and regurgitated ever since.

Although the film is nearly 25 years old, the action is not dated and serves as a breath of fresh air after a decade dominated by wirework.

‘The Web Of Death’ would be a four-star film but (and it is a big ‘but’!) for the preposterous sight of seeing the heroes fleeing from a green spider.
