Tony Leung Confirmed For Big Screen 'Lurk'

 

Director Gao Xixi has announced that Tony Leung Chiu Wai will be the lead in a new movie version of the television series 'Lurk'. Based on a suspenseful spy novel by Long Yi, the series is set in the 1940s and focuses on a Communist spy who uses his charms to climb up the KMT ladder.

Actress Shu Qi is currently rumoured to appear opposite Leung, but Gao stated that there may be scheduling conflicts as Qi is set to film another project ('If You Are the One 2') at the same time. The film has already been put on hold for some time as Gao has been waiting a while for an opening in Leung's schedule.

As for the difference between the movie version and the TV series, Gao stated that while the two share the same name, the storyline in the film version will be totally different.
