Besides the recently announced ‘The White Storm 3’ (full story here), news has arrived about another one of Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok’s new film projects. The film’s Chinese title is斷網 (literal translation: ‘Broken Net’) and the story is set in the future when the internet gets broken and no longer functions.
The film re-teams Aaron Kwok with producer Soi Cheang (‘Accident’, ‘Motorway’) and new director Wong Hing-Fan. The trio recently worked together on ‘i’m living it’, which has had its theatrical release delayed because of the Coronavirus pandemic and consequent closure of all the cinemas in Hong Kong.
‘Broken Net’ has just commenced shooting. Reportedly, Aaron Kwok, Soi Cheang and many members of the cast and crew have accepted reduced pay in order for the film to get made.
Update: The film has since been given the English title of ‘Cyber Heist’.
