Screenwriter Szeto Kam-Yuen Passes Away

Hong Kong screenwriter Szeto Kam-Yuen passed away yesterday at the age of 48. Szeto, who is probably best known for his time working at Milkyway Image and TVB, had reportedly been suffering from lung cancer for sometime. His final work was on Soi Cheang's upcoming movie, 'Monkey King'.

Szeto's career started in the early 90s, when he wrote for a number of popular television shows at TVB. His high quality work was soon recognised and he quickly made the step up into movies. He frequently collaborated with Johnnie To and  was responsible for co-writing a number of Milkyway Image productions, such as 'Too Many Ways To Be No. 1', 'The Longest Nite', 'Expect The Unexpected', 'A Hero Never Dies', 'Exiled', 'Accident' and 'Motorway'. He also occassionally moonlighted to work on fan favourites like 'Sha Po Lang', 'Flash Point', 'Dog Bite Dog', and 'Shamo'. You can find his full filmography over at Hong Kong Cinemagic.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.
