Though certainly not uncomfortable to sit through, there’s without a doubt something missing that stops it firing on all cylinders.

‘House Of Flying Daggers’ has too many trappings of an arthouse production that screams ‘self-conscious’ throughout.

It doesn’t rank up there with the best of any genre but for a lightweight action-comedy it is worth a watch.

The same lead duo and director had given audiences the wildly uneven ‘Fast Fingers’ the year before, but whereas that was entertaining, ‘I Will Finally Knock You Down, Dad!’ is a bit of a slog.

‘Iceman’ is more of a lame comedy with a little bit a decent action rather than the fantasy blockbuster if could have been.

What could have been a fun period set actioner is instead a rushed, confusing sequel which, as other reviews have pointed out, seems to have been cobbled together in a rush from unused footage from the first ‘Iceman’.

Many of the fight sequences are powerful and realistic, and there is a good balance between cinematic choreography and outright simple bloodshed.

You really feel a lot of the hits in this film which is all in all, a hugely enjoyable action flick, jam-packed with trademark Woo Ping fight scenes, thankfully sans wires!

The plot is all over the place and covers all areas mentioned in my opening paragraph, but as ever, it is only there to give people a reason to fight.

‘Incredible Kung Fu Mission’ is peppered with a decent mix of humour, sentimentality and superior fight action, creating a solid independent feature.

‘Incredible Shaolin Thunderkick’ is ineptitude on an almost apocalyptic level.

Ultimately, ‘Invincible Enforcer’ proves such a hit or miss affair that it’s not hard to see why it has remained virtually unknown to international audiences since its release.
