Tony Leung Chiu-Wai to appear in Wong Kar-Wai-produced reality show

Chinese media has reported that Tony Leung Chiu-Wai will be making an appearance in director Wong Kar-Wai’s Chinese reality show, ‘Ferryman of Time and Space’. This is the first time for the top Hong Kong actor to appear in a reality show.
The show will be based on Leung’s new film ‘The Ferryman’, which is written and produced by Wong Kar-Wai. The film’s co-stars Takeshi Kaneshiro and Angelababy will also appear on the show.
The director and actor have worked together frequently since Wong’s second feature as a director, ‘Days of Being Wild’. Following that, the pair have made ‘Chungking Express’, ‘Ashes of Time’, ‘Happy Together’, ‘In the Mood for Love’, ‘2046’ and most recently, ‘The Grandmaster’.
Tony Leung has won five Best Actor Awards at the Hong Kong Film Awards and four of them were for his performances in films directed by Wong Kar-Wai (‘Chungking Express’, ‘Happy Together’, ‘In the Mood for Love’ and ‘2046’).
‘The Ferryman’ is currently in post-production, while ‘Ferryman of Time and Space’ will commence shooting at the end of October.
