A worthy attempt to fuse a serious topic with insane action, ‘Skin Trade’ can’t quite find the right balance between the two but rollicks along on the charisma and fight power of its stars.

This sort of sequel/prequel has its moments also but is nowhere near as fun, is often confusing and unfortunately feels like a half arsed attempt to cash in on the first flick.

As pleasing as ‘Temporary Family’ proves to be – and it balances comedy, drama and a scintilla of satire – it could have been even better with a few tweaks here and there.

‘Roaring Currents’ is either a fascinating piece of edutainment or a tiresome trawl through 16th-century warfare, depending on your interest in the subject matter.

While sometimes over indulgent and not quite as good as the first instalment, ‘The Raid 2’ is still an incredible achievement, a staggering action film and, well, just plain essential cinema.

It’s a cinematic car crash, and it’s often difficult to peel your eyes away from the horrible things that are happening on-screen at any given moment.

‘Thread of Lies’ has its weaknesses, yet mostly succeeds in shedding light on the aftermath of a tragedy.

There are so much better examples of Japanese comedy out there which means that ‘Time Trip App’ has very little to recommend it.

‘Tokyo Tribe’ is the director on full expressive mode fusing hip hop, martial arts and an alternative Japan gone mad into a truly original whole.
