The new material alone isn’t really worth the time investment, and there are far too many missing elements for newcomers to make this their jumping-off point.

It may not be to everyone’s taste but ‘Moon And Cherry’ is a little heard of gem, which features excellent performances and a mature view on some serious and saucy subject matter.

While it may lack the tension of some of the other Kaiju films, ‘Mothra’ makes for a very refreshing entry into the genre that provides more of a sense of fun than ferocity.

It has a slight campy nature but has the message of the earlier films along with their high technical values and cinematography.

It’s got a predictably fun storyline that does just enough to keep you entertained until the next hard-hitting action scene emerges.

‘Heroes Rising’ is a step in the right direction but it is still some way from being the ultimate ‘My Hero Academia’ movie.

While the animation and action are definitely well handled, the numerous anime movie clichés prevent it from ever progressing beyond anything other than filler.

‘My Neighbour Totoro’ is a true family classic that encompasses all of the elements of cinema that Miyazaki does so well.

Even though it feels a bit more like a series of shorts than a movie, ‘My Neighbours The Yamadas’ is another immensely entertaining outing from the Ghibli stable.

Blessed with the presence of Aoi Miyazaki – possibly the cutest actress in the universe – the story of two ordinary people dealing with life-changing illness is uplifting without being glib.

A delightful adventure that has belly laughs weaved together with the odd moment of social commentary.

It is a needlessly extended, yet very well performed drama with a splendid couple of actresses taking centre stage.
