Extremely silly, camp, surreal and gory, ‘Dead Sushi’ is a bonkers ride of flesh eating sushi, kung fu, flying squids, sushi sex (!) and a daughter’s quest to earn the respect of her father.

‘Death Bell’ is certainly not the best the genre has to offer, but it is a harmless little frightfest that has a few hints of ‘Saw’ and ‘Battle Royale’ thrown in.

Thankfully, you’re never too far away from a spot of fisticuffs, which is a very good thing because you’re not likely to gain much enjoyment from any other part of this film.

‘Dial D for Demons’ is a modest but effective Hong Kong ghost story and generates just enough suspense to keep one on edge until the finale.

For the most part ‘Die Fighting’ is an excellent (meta) martial arts flick showcasing the Z Team to be major players on the action movie block meaning breath is abated for their next feature film.

‘Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog’ doesn’t compare to Sammo’s classics, but it’s diverting enough to persuade genre fans to catch it.

‘Don’t Cry, Mommy’ is a decent entry into the revenge genre, albeit a fairly imperfect one.

‘Don’t Give A Damn’ provides some good action and a distracting 100 minutes, but don’t expect another Sammo masterpiece.

The film is not without its flaws, inclusive of a sometimes-confused narrative structure, but it’s worth a look against its widespread negative reaction for long-time fans of the director.

Bad fashion, hideous colours, crazy make-up effects and over-the-top acting make this video game adaptation a trash classic.

It’s not exactly the best Van Damme movie around, but ‘Double Team’ remains entertaining fluff thanks to a few entertaining action highlights.

By all means watch the occasionally jaunty ‘Double Trouble’, but don’t move anything slightly necessary out of your schedule to accommodate it.
