‘The Musketeer’ is a horrible re-interpretation of Dumas’s classic tale that will most likely have him turning in his grave.

The plot is paper thin, with little characterisation taking place in the short running time. In its place are a number of special effects set pieces and action clichés leading up to the ultimate showdown.

‘The Order’ is a welcome step backwards for Van Damme that will undoubtedly prove popular with fans of his earlier outings.

‘The Princess Blade’ is a very average affair that is lifted by some standout moments of action and a strong leading performance from Yumiko Shaku.

‘U.S. Seals 2’ features a truly awful script, some under-par acting and an abundance of bad clichés. Luckily though, Andy Cheng is on hand to save the day with some action choreography that is well above average.

The enjoyment that is had from viewing this modest, yet mostly rewarding production is that it is a character piece that avoids action or histrionics.

Indebted to ‘The Sixth Sense’ it may be, but ‘Visible Secret’ eschews the surreal shocks of current Japanese and Korean horror cinema.

While it may often prioritise style over substance, ‘Volcano High’ still emerges as a pretty enjoyable action flick.

Featuring a number of laugh-out-loud moments that undoubtedly transcend traditional language barriers, this is a heart-warming production that squeezes every last drop of entertainment value from its concept.
