I really can’t find much to criticise in this movie. It’s a short, tight story that is well told, well acted, exciting and at times surprising. Good times.

The real problem of ‘King Of Beggars’ is that there is a lack of focus on what should be the main strength of the production.

A formulaic plot that doesn’t exactly inspire viewing is lifted from tedium by some inventive and exciting action sequences.

A lad’s with lager film, but one that doesn’t fail in it’s objective: Jet Li kicks ass…violently…and lots of it.

The action is simply electric, most notably the two-against-one finale that pits Sammo and Yuen against Liu Chia Yung.

‘Kung Fu Chefs’ slipped through the cracks on its initial release, but with its star getting more attention than ever before, it might be worth revisiting.

The pairing of Jet Li and Sammo should have spawned a masterpiece, but instead the audience is left with this disheartening effort.

‘Kung Fu Fighter’ is the cinematic equivalent of watching a used corn plaster floating in a muddy canal.

In the end, ‘Kung Fu From Beyond The Grave’ is decent entertainment – mainly due to the fights – but lacks the campy charm needed to make it a strong recommendation.

It is a brilliantly constructed spoof of the martial arts genre that includes all of the elements that made Chow such a success.

‘Kung Fu Killer’, despite its B-movie title and the odd moment of cheesiness, comes very close to bringing back the elation one felt when watching golden era Hong Kong action cinema.

‘Kung Fu League’ displays the good and bad of Lau, a fact that means it’s never a smooth journey through the hundred minutes, but you don’t necessarily feel too aggravated by the end.
