Sticking to its sweary and sometimes seedy roots ‘Accident Man’ knuckle sandwiches the audience with a rowdy onslaught of despicable characters, fruity language and searing fight action.

It’s such a shame that one of Lam’s more appealing roles is hamstrung by unusually poor direction from Tsui Hark.

Adkins and Johnson go full force here and while it may not be to everyone’s taste, ‘Avengement’ is another hit for the duo and showcase for the unprecedented talents of Scott Adkins.

One could almost believe the idea was hatched in a few minutes as scenes are needlessly dragged out and nothing significant happens until the closing moments.

‘Badges of Fury’ cannot decide whether it is merely an abysmal spoof of cop films, an action comedy or a gaudy pantomime.

‘Banana Cop’ is a quick-moving film that is at times amusing and at times, thanks to some fine direction, suspense-filled.

This lacklustre and also very sluggish remake, comes from Nicholas Cage and the Pang Brothers once again and offers nothing new to say and pretty much suffers from the same problems as the original.

What prevents Battles Without Honour and Humanity from being a true masterpiece is its confused, muddled plot.

As an introduction to the lunacy of Wangan precinct and Japanese protocol in general, ‘Bayside Shakedown’ more than holds the attention with its zesty pace and attempts to do things a little differently.

‘Beast Cops’ is a powerfully shot and highly entertaining movie that raises some important issues regarding today’s society, which really need to be addressed.

‘Beijing Blues’ is occasionally frustrating, but acts as an interesting anathema to the usual portrayal of police work as gritty or glamorous.

It’s still a poor attempt at a revenge flick that is sorely lacking in action and regularly feels like a chore to sit through.
