Long-time fans of ‘Dragon Ball Z’ who can’t get enough of those crazy Kamehamehas will likely find plenty to appreciate here.

While I wasn’t exactly thrilled to see the return of this particular enemy, ‘Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler’ is still a solid ride that is a carried by an abundance of action.

It’s nothing particularly new or flashy, but it is filled with enough action and comedy to leave you smiling once the final credits roll.

Despite a few criticisms, Yee has crafted a capable film with a tender heart, something not easy to achieve in the cynical world of film-making.

The choreography is refreshing and innovative though the storyline is badly developed and cannot fall back on well-written characters.

Taking a well-trod tale of unrequited love and combining efforts with current hot property Miriam Yeung, Yip imbues proceedings with an infectious air.

‘Echoes Of The Rainbow’ is full of the balancing act between cliché and skilled drama, complete with solid performances throughout.

‘End of Innocence’ won’t be counted among the great thrillers to come out of Asia in recent years, but it’s a more than competent effort and generates real tension before the credits roll.

‘Enter the Fat Dragon’ is a warm homage to the man who popularised martial arts cinema around the world.

There is just so much effort and talent involved that I think it earns itself a hearty recommendation.

It may not be refreshing, it may not be especially exciting, yet ‘Eye For an Eye’ has a few aces up its sleeve.

While ‘Fast Fingers’ may be seen as a combination of kung-fu and comedy, it is more memorable for being an amalgam of the sublime and the ridiculous.
