Much of the story could have been padded better, with the format really revolving around getting to the next action sequence when more depth to the characters would have been far more beneficial.

‘Brotherhood Of The Wolf’ doesn’t quite contain enough action to hold fight fans’ attention but also lacks the innovation to be anything more than a weak murder mystery.

Crying Freeman’ can be commended on several levels, as it manages to stick faithfully to the source material while providing a stylish, action-packed adventure that highlights the skills of fan favourite Mark Dacascos.

If you give it a go it can be a rewarding and all together different movie viewing experience and shows the director is a gifted talent who can switch from gentle and beautiful to the dark and the violent with ease and skill.

A touching film which manages to show everything Jet has to offer from his likeable, shy persona to his impressive physical grace.

While it doesn’t completely succeed in its intentions it is still a brave, and very dark, experimental thriller recommended to the less judgemental out there.

Perhaps the only downside is that I would still rather watch one of Van Damme’s straight action pictures.

A lad’s with lager film, but one that doesn’t fail in it’s objective: Jet Li kicks ass…violently…and lots of it.

Director Guo Xiaolu does manage some scenes of striking realism where the drama and relationships work but soap opera theatrics derails the overall dramatic impact of ‘She, A Chinese’.

Not a complete write off and entertaining in parts, ‘Sons of the Wind’ doesn’t quite reach its potential.

Perhaps not the most original narrative wise, ‘The Bouncer’ is entertaining thanks to solid direction, a great setting and an excellent performance from the Muscles from Brussels.

Bravo to everyone behind ‘The Red Turtle’ for reminding this reviewer just how powerful simple, intelligent film-making can be without the bells and whistles.
