While the hype machine surrounding the film may damper some viewers overall enjoyment, there is no doubting ‘Train to Busan’ is an exhilarating zombie thrill ride, crafted with care and a commitment to carnage.

This fun, frothy and occasionally full on violent concoction mashes so many genres together its surprising ‘Treasure Hunt’ turned out this well made, coherent and well, entertaining.

‘Treasure Hunters’ never has a dull moment and from the opening credits to the very last kicks of the finale this is a top-notch Shaw Brothers’ film.

It has a fairly optimistic aim of being a comedy ‘Detective Dee’ and while it might not quite achieve a happy union between its components this is an undemanding distraction.

‘Triangle’ is a tense ride, an interesting character piece, oozes style and features a breathless and exhilarating last act making it an interesting and always entertaining experiment from directors Hark, Lam and To.

Tightly helmed by Brit action guy Matt Routledge, ‘Tribal’ is a fun collision of genres that overcomes a limited budget (and the occasional ropey acting) to deliver a short and sharp horror action hybrid.

Though there is talent behind the lens and in front of it, this is a run-of-the-mill swordplay film with a wasted gimmick.

Fast and fun ensemble action flick puts some of the best fight stars front and centre for an action blast straight out of the 1990s.

There is, therefore, no surprises in this Korean blockbuster. Yet the winning entertainment value that Kwon Hyeok-Jae imbues his film with renders all of these minor inconveniences mostly irrelevant.

Action fans in particular will find much to appreciate here, especially the chance to see the Drunken style so excellently represented on screen.

‘Tube’ just about manages to succeed in being passable action fluff, but it is ultimately as shallow and unsatisfying as the worst of the Hollywood blockbusters.

Tense, exciting, thoughtful and often very funny, ‘Tunnel’ has so many facets to be congratulated on that a few paragraphs barely seem appropriate to sing its praises.
